Chris Maser spent over twenty years as a research scientist in natural history and ecology. He currently lives in Corvallis, Oregon, where he writes about and consults on sustainability issues. He is the author of numerous books, including Forest Primeval: The Natural History of an Ancient Forest (Sierra Club Books), and co-author of Fleas of the Pacific Northwest.
